Principal's Message

PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Greetings students, parents, and community members! Welcome to our Blanchette Middle School website. I hope you find this information extremely informative and meaningful. It is our goal to ensure our stakeholders (students, parents, faith-based and business partners, faculty, staff members, etc.) have the information they need to make practical decisions that will impact the academic performance of their students. Our website is just one of many tools designed to promote on-going and effective communication between school and home. We hope you find this information useful.

My mission for BMS centers upon one common theme of our being a world-class school focused upon the core business of teaching & learning. We aim to foster an academic environment that purposely acknowledges the individual learning needs of all students, while ensuring that they have the necessary academic knowledge, skills and behavior to be successful in a technological global society that never sleeps. Learning at BMS is not dependent on our textbooks and teachers alone. At BMS, we will use assessments, such as projects, performance-based assessments, quizzes and tests, to further guide the decisions we use to create instructional lessons that are relevant to our children. For students to learn at their optimal levels, they must also recognize that learning is valued in their home. We encourage you to make learning a vital component of your family's focus by taking a moment each day to talk with your child about what went on in school. Students need to be able to share with others what they have learned at school. This ensures that their newly acquired knowledge will impact the decisions they make in the future.

As we approach this new year toward supporting the learning needs of our community, I am reminded of how thankful I am to work in a school and community that is focused on teaching and learning. I thank you in advance for your support and dedication this coming year.

Sincerely,

Reginald Kirkland, Ed.S.
